Physical Quantity Any thing in nature which can be measured is a physical quantity ex. – length, mass, time, volume area, electric current etc. Measurement of a physical quantity gives information about that quantity.   Units In order to measure a physical quantity, we need to define a unit . This means that we have to select a particular value (amount) of a physical quantity and say that this amount is one unit of that quantity. Measurement of a given quantity involves finding out the number of times of the unit the given quantity is , when the result of the measurement is stated, we give this number as well as the unit (nu).
